Review of New Canon SLR Camera

Stephan Shankland in an article titled Canon wises up with 50D sensor and new zoom reviews the new Canon Camera.
When it ships in October, the 50D will sport a 15.1 megapixel sensor, up from 10.1 megapixels in the current 40D. The increase in megapixels is nice for the poster-print and microstock-sales crowds, but what's most notable is the increase of the top ISO from 3,200 to 12,800.

Types of Digital Cameras

The best photos will be taken by a photographer who is using a camera that fits the personality of the photographer and who understands the capabilities of the camera. To help photographers understand the various types of digital cameras we have put togehter this post.

It is our intention to not be so technical in this post but to make this post accessible to amature photographers everywhere.

Ultra Compact Digital Cameras - Digital cameras keep getting smaller and smaller. You have to wonder just how small will they be able to get. They are small, lifhtweight, easy to use and vonvenient to carry.

The features continue to increase and the prices continue to go down. For the most part Ultra Compact Digital Cameras are moderately priced. The cool thing is that these small cameras are serious cameras and can take some great photos.

Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras - DSLR cameras are for the most part used by professionals and photo enthusiasts who have professional level skills. These cameras have outstanding optics, can produce high resolution images and accept interchangeable lenses and sophisticated accessories.

They perform better in low light than most other digital cameras that have small sensors. DSLRs function automatically but also have a full range of manual controls. You can buy only a DSLR body, and purchase lenses separately. The price of professional level lenses can be very expensive. Models include entry level, semi-professional and professional. They are high priced upto extremely expensive.

Digital Camera Accessories - Accessories make owning a digital camera even more fun and they also allow you to get more use out of your camera. Items like cases help to protect your investment by limiting damage due to drops, scrapes and other mishaps. Cases also allow you to stay organized.

Accessories such as extra batteries help to extend the shooting time that you will have with your camera, and memory cards help you to save and reproduce you images easily. Digital frames and display units help you to show off your work.
